Here is a brief introduction to our services:
Description of Services
- Acupuncture
- Acupuncture is the art and science of inserting needles into specific
points on the body to desire a specific therapeutic effect. In
Western scientific research, acupuncture has been shown clinically to
reduce pain.
- Cupping
- Cupping is the use of hollow bulb-shaped glass/plastic cups whose
insides are vacuumed out with fire or a suction bulb. The cups are
then directly applied to the affected area on the skin. They may be
positioned stationary or repeatedly applied/removed from the skin, or be
slid up and down on the affected area.
- Electroacupuncture
- Electroacupuncture is a variation of acupuncture by which needles are
stimulated with electric current. By using electricity under certain
clinical conditions, it has even a more profound and prolonged therapeutic
effect than standard acupuncture.
- Herbal Therapy
- Herbs form the fundamental core of the art and science of Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM), whose clinical foundation and efficacy have been
refined over thousands of years. We will diagnose your condition,
devise a treatment plan, and then formulate a custom herbal formula that
would help alleviate your condition. The herbs may be prescribed and
filled in powder, capsule, or pill form, thereby requiring no cooking or
preparation on the part of the patient. Chinese herbal formulas are
very safe when taken correctly as prescribed, with virtually no side
effects. When combined with acupuncture and other treatment
modalities, the therapeutic effect is enhanced significantly.
- TDP
- TDP is a method of heat therapy by which infrared waves are emitted by a
lamp to heat the local skin area superficially. When indicated, TDP
has been clinically shown to decrease pain, improve blood circulation,
promote healing, and improve digestion.
- Tui-Na
- Tui-Na (pronounced tway-naa) is a traditional hands-on Chinese
soft-tissue therapy resembling massage. When indicated, Tui-Na helps
to relieve muscle spasms and pain, improve blood & lymphatic
circulation, and promote healing. This is most often used for many
types of pain conditions all over the body, including the head, neck,
shoulders, low back, hips, arms and legs. When combined with
acupuncture or electroacupuncture, it is especially effective for pain
relief and help restore range of motion of joints under most
circumstances.
